I have to confess something rather embarassing.. Whole this time, after I spent more than 3 years on this company, just now I know the company’s vision.. haha auch!

I’m attending CAP training provided by my company, it’s about Change Acceleration Program.
One of the lesson is the need to share needs.
As an example, the trainer took our company shared vision, it is ‘To Serve the Underserved’.

Something tickles me about that vision.. Not that it sounds like Justice League motto or what, but something else..

The target on that vision is the underserved. We can’t avoid that on this airline business, the underserved is much related to people with low economy, whom before this company operates, perhaps thinking that flying is a very very high class and rather impossible for them..

So, the vision is to serve the underserved.. If I were given this vision, I -and perhaps most people- will think on how to reach the underserved people. How to make they to be not afraid by our system, to be less hassled by our system..

But in the end, that is not what this company do.. They still go with internet booking, credit card payment, mobile check-in, etc that perhaps most people is still not aware and get use to it.
For mid class economy I think it’s not a problem, but for a low class, I personally think it will be kind of a long battle..

By still doing it, encouraging people to do it, I see that this company afters its vision in other way..
Not by going down to reach people, but creating, developing and encouraging a system, a culture that leverage people..

I believe it will be hard, especially in Indonesia..
But when the company encouraging the people to be with them, the vision can be clearly seen and the famous tagline is not just words, it’s true that Now Everyone Can Fly..

Hello friends, fellas, everyone..

First of all, I would send my greatest apology for abandoning this blog for a quite long time. Apparently, it was hard to write, young version of me could not stand it and chose to stop. It was a horrible decision..

It really shocked me when I found that a lot, I mean, A LOT of comments and questions being addressed both to this blog and its email.

I dont know how to thank you all for those feedbacks and queries..

And now.. this is it!! I’m reviving this blog, I’m gonna start writing again..

I’m thinking to do it in english, but all of you are free if want to send question in Bahasa, no problemo at all.

I already have a view topic in mind to share with all of you.. Maybe it’s gonna take some time, because I will need to read some books again, do a little study and practice.. Well, I have to make me sharp again..

On February 24, 2009, Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) spacecraft failed to reach its orbit at 705 km above the earth due to rocket malfunction.

The fairing covering OCO spacecraft on top of Taurus XL rocket apparently did not separate as planned, officials report said it so far.

John Brunschwyler, Taurus program manager from Orbital Sciences, said: “The fairing has considerable weight relative to the portion of the vehicle that’s flying. So when it separates off, you get a jump in acceleration. We did not have that jump in acceleration.”

“As a direct result of carrying that extra weight, we could not make orbit.”


In this post I won’t write about why this incident happened, but I am trying to discuss about how the failed-to-be-opened clam shell fairing affects the entire mission so it failed to get into orbit.

Sebagai contoh, akan dibangun sebuah GUI yang akan mem-plot data secara sederhana ke dalam bentuk grafik. GUI akan menerima input berupa harga X Maximum dan Y Maximum, kemudian akan mem-plot grafik XY pada GUI. Tombol Save dan Load akan dibuat untuk menyimpan dan mengambil kembali data input GUI. Akan ditambahkan juga sebuah tombol Reset untuk mengembalikan GUI ke keadaan awal.

Tutorial ini akan membahas bagaimana untuk mem-plot data menjadi grafik di MATLAB GUI menggunakan komponen Axes.

Axes digunakan untuk menampilkan display grafik, seperti grafik dan gambar (images) pada GUI kita. Sebagai contoh, di tutorial ini kita akan membuat GUI yang akan mem-plot data secara sederhana ke dalam bentuk grafik. GUI akan menerima input berupa harga Y Minimum dan Y Maximum, kemudian akan mem-plot grafik XY dengan vektor X yang sudah ditentukan.

Kita juga akan mencoba membuat aplikasi tombol Reset dan toolbar standard untuk mengeksplor hasil grafik yang telah di-plot.

Abstract– The paper discusses the development of software used in the preliminary design of rocket-based vehicle. The input of the software is the characteristics of the propulsion system used and the rocket’s target (final speed, altitude, and attitude). The output of the rocket is the rocket configuration (mass, dimension, number of stages), the rocket’s attitude control requirements as well as its flight path and stage drop zones (if required). The software is developed using MATLAB engine. The software performs 3-dimensional analysis of the rocket movement, in which the result can be displayed with respect to inertial or Earth coordinates. The aerodynamics parameters are predicted using standard close-form calculation and empirical data, and the atmosphere is modeled until 80 km from sea level using International Standard Atmosphere.
The validation of the software is done by comparing the software’s flight simulation result with the flight performance data from the flight of Japan’s L4S and Indian’s PSLV.  Civilian problem example presented here is the design of Nano-satellite orbiter using LAPAN’s standard rocket motor of diameter 420 and 320 mm. To demonstrate that the software can be used to design a ballistic rocket for military purposes, a problem of designing an Inter-Regional Ballistic Missile using LAPAN’s standard 530 mm rocket motor.
